“A few years ago, we had an idea. We had no investors, no following, no connections, and honestly, no idea what we were doing.
We just started.
We shared our journey building CAKES body through 30-second TikToks from our basement. We put ourselves out there, learned as we went, and somehow that first step changed the trajectory of our lives.
For the last two years, we've had cameras following what happened next—the early failures and tiny wins, product development, going viral, Shark Tank, unexpected setbacks, and the very surreal experience of figuring out how to run a rapidly growing company in real time.
But VIRAL: The New American Dream isn't really a story about building a $100M business.
It's about what can happen when you're willing to take the first step before you know where it's going to lead.
Because we believe that's the New American Dream.
You don't need Hollywood. You don't need the right connections. You don't need a massive following or someone else's permission to put yourself out there and try. And betting on yourself doesn't have to mean starting a company. It can mean changing careers, going after a new opportunity, leaving something behind, or simply doing the thing you've been too scared to do
Our story is just one version of what can happen when you start. That’s also why we created CAKES Media: a space to tell stories about ambition, taking chances, betting on yourself, and all the different ways a life can change when you decide to go for it.
And eventually, we want to tell a whole lot more stories than our own. We hope this one makes you think: wait… why not me?
