What to expect at our gatherings
Leadership
Dave Savage is the founder and moderator/facilitator of the Inventor’s Education Forum.
He is a product developer with a broad range of knowledge and experience about the challenges you will face in your product creation journeys.
His professional background is in sales and supply chain of metal working and contractors tools and equipment. Sharing about the unknown obstacles you will face in preparation for any next step is a core part of his sharing. He was a leader at a large inventor support group in Atlanta for several years.
There are no group officers or Roberts Rules of Order for getting things done. That is why we use the term “gatherings”, rather than meetings.
If you want to help or suggest a change, talk with Dave. There are many ways you can help that will also help you.
In this group we teach and practice “Safe Sharing” to solve the idea secrecy problem. An NDA (non disclosure Agreement) will be needed or desirable in specific situations. We share and ask about the problems you are looking to solve and the new features and benefits that your end user prospects say they would pay a premium to get. Do you know what that premium retail price range is? You can also share about the many ways you have done market validation research and what worked for you.Where and how did you gather your information and build relationships?
Cost
There is no fee charge for attending monthly general gatherings. Income to pay for the expenses of the group come from Appreciation Donations. What have you learned at gatherings and the extensive Library of articles and video links on the website. What have you learned that others charge for less actionable information? Later there will be a charge for targeted gatherings and focused help from Dave’s Pointer Consulting. Donations can be made with QR codes to Zelle, Venmo or CashApp. See the donation section of the website.
NetWeaving vs Networking
Networking is the interactions you have to share about what solutions you have to share and look for help with your journey.
NetWeaving adds how you actively connect others in the room with common interests and those who can help each other.
Don’t sit down before or after the presentation.
The tendency for new folks who come to check out the group is to sit down and not talk to others.
If you have been to any business or social networking events you have noticed that there are few, if any, chairs set out. Everyone who comes to inventors support groups comes with a wide variety of knowledge, experience and resources. Plus, they have connections with their circles of professional and recreation friends and acquaintances. Being bold, smiling and sticking your hand out to introduce yourself is required on any product development journey.
Be sure to come early and stay after the presentation. This is where journey connections and friendships are created.
