I’m so glad to announce the soft launch gathering of the Inventor’s Education Forum. Creating the group has been my most recent product development journey.

I use the word gatherings rather than meetings because of the structure of the group. There will be no leadership hierarchy, committee meetings or Robert’s Rules of order. Net revenue after expenses and planned improvements will be my venture reward. Are you looking for a reward for your venture? I expect it to be a great value to you and the folks you refer to the group.
I was the the leader and president of a large and long established inventor’s support group in Atlanta for several years. The bureaucracy took the fun out of leadership so much that the group folded a few years after I left. You will find that many of the volunteer led inventor support groups, on lists, have folded.

There are and will be several ways to be involved that will both help the group grow and having you getting the rewards of meeting more interesting people in the club and in the business community.

We will practice and teach what I call “safe sharing” if you are concerned about the secrecy of your ideas / products. Share about the problems you are looking to solve and the features and benefits your prospective customers want and will pay a premium to get. Everyone who comes to inventor support groups is eager to share ideas, advice and resources from their professional and personal experiences. Be sure to bring note taking materials. Learning and sharing are equally important.

Use the time before a gathering to create a NAME TAG that is clearly readable from at least 6 feet away. Your first name and below it - two words to introduce
your idea/product area of interest. (IE Landscape tool, catch tuna, secure cargo, golfing accessory, dance shoes) Use a wide felt marker. This starts a conversation.

The inventor personality can’t shut off the flow of ideas. Your experiences in researching and any follow through of any of your ideas is a valuable resource to share.
